Katie & Tom 10.11.08 Pearl S. Buck House

10 11 2008

After a long string of rainy Saturday weddings Tom & Katie were lucky enough to have a beautiful sunny day! They had both their ceremony and reception at the Pearl S. Buck House in Perkasie. Tom & Katie made the decision to see each other before the ceremony which as you can see below gives the couple a chance to see and interact with each other for the first time in a much more intimate setting. And without further delay the pictures..

Amy 9.28.08

29 10 2008

For those of you who check my blog often you may have noticed a drop off in posts lately. I have been super busy with the fall wedding season…and watching the Phil’s in the World Series!! Now that both are winding down I am going to do my best to catch back up. So here we go…

I have slowly been trying to get into doing more family and children portrait sessions and am very thankful to have friends who let me drag them all over the place to practice! This little munchkin is the daughter of two close friends I went to college with. If you scroll all the way back to the very first post you will see a picture of her at 3 months hanging in the cheese cloth. As you can see she has grown quite a bit since her days in the NICU and is now a healthy and happy baby who can’t sit still.

Jon & Anna’s Wedding 9.27.08 Peddlers Village

12 10 2008

Two Saturday’s ago Jon and Anna became husband and wife at the Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Doylestown. While the weather started out a bit rainy that day it cleared up just in time to head across the street to the church’s prayer garden for some family photos. After the prayer garden the bridal party along with myself and my assistant hopped onto the trolley car to take a ride through downtown Doylestown and past their photography gallery Main Street Gallery on our way to Peddlers Village for the reception which was held at the Cock n’ Bull Restaurant. As I learned during our photo session before the reception Peddler’s Village is a very special place for Jon and Anna as that is where they met while Anna was working in the book store there. They were a wonderful and fun couple to work with who obviously have a lot of love for each other. Keep scrolling for some of the photos from their day.

Bryan & Kelly’s Wedding 9.20.08 Hotel Fiesole

29 09 2008

Last Saturday Bryan & Kelly had a very small intimate wedding at the Hotel Fiesole in Skippack, PA. There were only about 50-60 people in attendance consisting of their closest friends and family. I must thank everyone for their patience as I was recovering from my mouth surgery and wasn’t supposed to be talking. It made things a bit interesting as it came time to do a group shot of everyone who attended! Thankfully the grooms dad hopped down front and assisted in getting everyone in place. Be sure to check out Kelly’s super cute shoes with the red hearts on the bottom as if I expected anything less having seen her choice of shoes on the other days we met…if I didn’t think I would break an ankle I would have tried to sneak those home with me! Congratulations to both of you, you were an amazing and fun couple to work with! And now for some pictures…

Anthony & Jeanette’s Wedding 9.06.08 Bear Creek Mountain Resort

12 09 2008

Last Saturday was Anthony & Jeanette’s wedding at Bear Creek Mountain Resort formerly known as Doe Mountain. Due to Hurricane Hanna everything had to be moved inside but thankfully Bear Creek has a very nice banquet facility and we were still able to get some great photos.

This past Sunday I had the pleasure of doing Bryan & Kelly’s engagement session at Hotel Fiesole in Skippack Village which is where they will be getting married in about a week. Bryan & Kelly are a very fun and energetic couple that I am looking forward to spending their wedding day with! If you are ever in Skippack head over to the Parc Bistro they have amazing food and even better entertainment at the bar!! Check back in a few weeks for their wedding photos.

Jon & Anna’s Engagement Session

4 08 2008

It seems like every year I go to Cape May on vacation I end up starting the week off with a photo shoot…why should this year be any different. Jon & Anna both have a lot of love for Cape May, they have family there, they got engaged there so why not do their engagement photos there too. First we headed over to Cape May Winery & Vinyard where we sampled a few wines and started our photo session.

After stopping for a dinner break we were off to one of my favorite hotels in Cape May…Congress Hall where we now had that fabulous golden light from the setting sun.

What would an engagement session at the beach be without a few pictures in the sand.
Photobucket

To our amusement as we were walking down the beach towards our car we saw not one, not two but THREE different families with THREE different photographers all lined up doing their “Family Beach Portraits”. I won’t deny that the white sandy beach, vibrant green dunes with the bright blue sky in the background looks gorgeous at sunset (why do you think we were out there) but you can’t help but giggle at the sight of 3 families all dressed alike in their matching white, khakki & navy outfits lined up down the beach getting their yearly family beach portrait done!!

Finally, Cape May is unique from the other beaches that run along the Jersey coast because it has Sunset Beach which is on the edge of the Delaware Bay and faces the west which means beautiful sunsets!!

East Coast Parasailing

4 08 2008

Leave it up to me to end up working on my vacation…if you can call this work! I was off wandering around the marina in the fog taking pictures of the fishing boats and was approached by Andy the owner of East Coast Parasailing. He was impressed with my camera and asked me to come out on one of the Parasailing boats to take some new pictures for their website, brochures, posters etc. Lets just say it didn’t take much convincing if any at all to get me to agree to this!

The weather was a bit questionable for most of the week but finally Friday there was a beautiful bright blue sky which meant it was time for Parasailing. I had never been Parasailing before so I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was so easy. They strap you in a harness and life vest before you go to the platform on the back of the boat, next you take a seat while they hook you to the harness and as they start to drive the boat you just float up off the platform. The next thing you know you are up in the air with an amazing view across the entire island and of some dolphins below if you are lucky. It’s so quiet you can’t even hear the boat engine running. Landing was just as easy! A quick dunk in the water if you want then back in the air for your landing on the platform.

Everyone who works there is great and makes sure you have a fun safe time! It is definitely worth checking out if you are looking for something fun to do while on vacation. For more information go HERE.

Here are a few pictures…

Even my dad went in the air..

The view down the beach from the air…YES I took the D300 up with me after some crazy looks from the other Parasailers!!

Cape May County Zoo

4 08 2008

As some of you may know I was away on vacation last week at the beach. While it was nice to be away for a week it would have been even nicer if the sun was out to sit on the beach every day! I wasn’t that lucky though so what do you do in Cape May when the sun is not out?? You go to the Cape May County Zoo of course! If you have never been it is a great large zoo and admission is by donation so you give what you can afford. For more info click HERE.

Most people go to the zoo with their little point and shoot but not me :) I took the D300 and 70-200 zoom lens!! If I am going to take pictures I am going to do it right! Here are a few of the good ones..

This little guy looks quite sad behind bars but he was small enough to fit in your hands and his habitat was huge!!
